CURRENT FORM AND TACTICS FOR SNAKE AND TREV'S LAKE JULY 2009

 SNAKE LAKE; 3 PROMINENT TACTICS AT THE MOMENT CORN AND DRYISH CRUMB FED IN MARGINS WITH CORN FISHED ON BLOB RIG ABOUT 8 TO 10 INCHES DEEP. FOR THE TRACK HEMP FED THROUGH TOSSPOT AND PUNCHED MEAT ON HOOK IS PROVING VERY GOOD. 3MM SOFT PELLET FEED WITH EITHER 4,6 OR 11MM SOFT PELLET ON HOOK ON THE DECK OR UP IN THE WATERSHALLOW IS ALSO WORKING WELL. WINNING WEIGHTS AT THE MOMENT ARE BETWEEN 90 AND 150LB WITH GOOD CATCHES FOR ALL.

TREV'S LAKE; THE CURRENT TREND METHODS ARE TO FEED AND FISH PELLET IN THE MARGINS TO CATCH CARP,SKIMMERS AND FANTAILS AND ODD BONUS TENCH OR CARP. DOWN THE SHELF LINE BETWEEN 7 AND 12.5M FEED A BED OF HEMP WITH A FEW PIECES OF CORN OR CUBED LUNCHEON MEAT AND LOOK TO CATCH ODD CARP TO 10LB CHUB OR BARBEL. A SEMI FIXED METHOD FEEDER FISHED TIGHT TO THE ISLAND WITH CORN,MEAT,PELLET OR DEAD MAGGOT FOR CARP, TENCH,CHUB AND BARBEL. ON CALM STILL WARM DAYS THE PELLET WAGGLER FISHED TOWARDS ISLAND SHALLOW WITH CAREFULL FEEDING WILL PRODUCE GOOD WEIGHTS OF CHUB. WINNING WEIGHTS IN MATCHES ARE 50 TO 60LB.

SNAKE LAKE TACTICS FOR SUMMER.

Feed 3 or 4mm pellets and fish 6 to 11mm soft pellets down the middle (4ft deep water) for larger fish. Feed small cubes of luncheon meat or corn in margins, fish single or double corn or 8 to 10mm cubes of luncheon to pick out one or two better sized fish. Remember to feed little and often to keep the fish interested. As weather warms up look to catch mid water towards far edge on pellet,maggot or caster feeding regularly with a catapult. 4 x 8 pole floats with .16 diameter line for edges and .5g to .75g floats to .14 diameter line for middle depending on wind direction. Hook size for 6mm pellet fishing is 14. On warmer days look to catch on pellet or meat fished shallow on a blob rig. Target weight in matches 45 to 60 lb to frame.

TREV'S LAKE TACTICS FOR SUMMER.

Corn, small cubes of luncheon meat and  6mm soft pellet fished in the margins over 1 or 2 small balls of fishmeal based carp groundnait or micro pellet. Feed micro pellet reguarly to catch small Tench, Barbel,mirror and crucian carp, and bonus bream to 4lb. Size 16 hook to .14 diameter line for best results. To catch chub and barbel and odd carp fish chop worm and caster on pole line  or small maggot feeder/ small groundbait feeder to the island. Once again fish a size 16 hook for maggot hookbait or a size 14 with a worm. Line diameter of .14 should  be all thats needed. The 6ft deep down the shelf line is the best line to fish chop worm and caster looking for chub,barbel,carp and bream. Fish between .75g and 1g float on pole with .14 diameter line, hook sizes as previously stated. On hot still summer days fish shallow with pellet on pole or with pellet waggler for good sport.Target weight in matches 25 lb to frame.

TOSHES LAKE TACTICS FOR SUMMER

Luncheon meat and corn around the edges and close to the island should produce some nice carp and odd large bream. Pellet feed and soft pellet hook bait will also appeal to the carp. Line diameter .16 to .18 and size 14 or 12 hooks recomended  to bank some of the larger specimens.
